Hello, my name is Cayleigh and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) here at Positive Mind Wellness. I work primarily with children, teens, young adults and families, supporting clients through challenges related to emotional regulation, behaviour challenges, relationships, identity, anxiety, depression, and neurodivergence. I have experience working with ADHD, conduct and behavioural difficulties, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), attachment-related challenges and blended family dynamics.

I also work with children and teens with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profiles by using collaborative, flexible, and neurodiversity-affirming approaches that reduce anxiety, build trust, and help them navigate daily demands with greater confidence and success. I support parents and caregivers who are navigating emotional, behavioural, and relational concerns within the family system and are looking for practical tools, guidance, and support.

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and individualized to each child and family’s unique needs. I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, Emotionally Focused, Trauma Focused, Attachment theory, Internal Family Systems and ADHD-specific strategies to help children and teens better understand their emotions, strengthen coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and build healthier relationships and confidence. I believe therapy should feel supportive, engaging, and practical while creating meaningful and lasting change.

As a therapist, I bring warmth, curiosity and a steady presence into the room. I value authenticity, humour, honesty, and compassion. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where children, teens, and families feel understood, supported, and comfortable being themselves. Whether I am working individually with a child or teen, or alongside parents and caregivers, my goal is to help clients feel empowered while strengthening connection and communication within the family. I believe meaningful change happens through collaboration, compassion, and feeling genuinely supported, and I am dedicated to meeting each youth and family where they are with care and respect.
